DCUK Quote of the day from Phoenix !

Aimed at Dillinger a lowcarb type one diabetic with good BG control.

"Whilst you choose to eat low carb, others don't and more importantly can still have good control."

Who are these people Phoenix ?  Not in the UK for sure. 93% of type one diabetics do not get to Dillinger's HbA1c of 6.3 as stated in the rock solid NHS annual audits. The type two stats are very grim as well.

Please try harder Phoenix, maybe it's time to wake the Bonkers one up, and get the thread locked.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Joseph Goebbels

Results for England. The National Diabetes Audit 2010-2011

HbA1c >   7.5% (58 mmol/mol) = 71.3%
HbA1c > 10.0% (86 mmol/mol) = 18.1%

Percentage of registered Type 2 patients in England

HbA1c >= 6.5% (48 mmol/mol = 72.5%
HbA1c > 7.5% (58 mmol/mol) = 32.6%

These results are very similar to those obtained in previous NHS audits over the past 5 - 6 years.

These figures are truly DISGUSTING.

I know Eddie and other members of our team have quoted these NHS audited figures on many occasions.

They do not get better.

They WILL NOT get better whilst the NHS, DUK and others that know better, but still for some reason, best known to themselves, carry on giving out DANGEROUS and MIS-LEADING information.

As I have said before I am not a diabetic but have family members and friends who are, and I CARE for them. The BIG question is does Phoenix and others who year in and year out perpetuate the terrible figures.

I have not been a member of the team long and do generally keep away from the low carb controversy but on this occasion felt I must speak out.

All the best Jan

She should remember that comment when she sticks her nose in LowCarb T2 discussions.

As for good control phoenix even with her pump has hypoglycemic episodes, she has mentioned in the past levels in excess of 10mmol/L

"These figures are truly DISGUSTING."

I sometimes wish a magic wand could be made so people would 'come out of the fog' they seem to live in, and realise the damage these appalling figures can do to our health.

Surely whether you are Type 1 or 2 a reduction in carbs makes sense. Yes, it is for each to decide what to eat but I don't like further endangering my health.
