Pumpkins and Spooky Fun : Happy Halloween !

As two of the grandchildren start preparations - I just couldn't resist posting these two mobile phone pictures ...

The top one was taken at a 'Pumpkin Scoop' and the bottom one shows the 'vampire' and 'witch' getting in party spooky mood ... well why not.

Whatever you are doing today (and I know not everyone welcomes Halloween) please enjoy your Saturday.

I wonder what 'Saturday Night Is Music Night' may feature later ?

All the best Jan

Awww, lovely. My two were always vampire and witch. I'm sure they'll have a wonderful time. Hmmm, Saturday Night Is Music Night may feature Monster Mash, Ghost Town, Time Warp or the most predictable, Thriller. I shall wait and see.

Great pictures. Maybe the old Monster Mash song...

I have two or three posts about Rooster Cogburn. He has recovered enough to leave the porch again, thank goodness! The bad pair, just doing what roosters naturally do, still have the power to make him hide.

The first photo in Gorilla is from the prompt. The second Gorilla was one from the Memphis zoo. He was a new male placed with his "harem". I think he grew tired of both and completely covered himself with his sheet.

I feel very uncomfortable when animals are not in their natural habitat, but it is a fact we deal with every day.

Have a blessed weekend and a wonderful family Halloween.

Always love the Monster Mash song and we watch Later with Jools Holland here and enjoy the show very much.

Such fun.
I thought the zombie eyes looked good too, and the Halloween peppers a great idea.

Thanks

Thank you ALL for your lovely comments ... the grandchildren had a wonderful evening.

Anon at 15.03 Yes cute and fun and adorable and so many other adjectives can describe these two ... we love them loads.

Jo, yes vampires, witches and skeletons are always great Halloween favourites. Hope you enjoyed the music choices!

Cheryl, yes they had a fun time with a lot of boos and giggles! Friends and neighbours really put their heart and soul into the 'party' atmosphere too, which was lovely.

Amy, thank you - they had a brilliant time.

Martha, hope you had a great Halloween too, thanks for your kind comment

Gail, glad you liked the pictures and enjoyed Monster Mash!
I just love your stories about Rooster Cogburn ... your photo's and captions are a joy to read.
Your gorilla post was a good read too.
Many like you do feel uncomfortable when beautiful animals are not in their natural habitat, but Zoos can do good work, a double edged sword perhaps?
Wishing you a good week ahead, they do seem to pass by alarmingly quickly.

Carolyn, Jools Holland shows are so good aren't they. Eddie and I were fortunate to go to one of his shows - it was brilliant. Many thanks for your kind comments about the grandchildren, they had a fun time.

Jane, glad you liked the recipe ideas. Hope you and your family enjoyed the Halloween weekend.

Thanks again to you all for your lovely comments, always great to receive and read them.

All the best Jan

Lisa - the grandchildren had an amazing Saturday Nights Halloween fun, they looked fantastic in their costumes. Friends and neighbours were so kind and entered into the spirit of the evening ...

I thoroughly enjoyed the Halloween theme on Strictly Come Dancing and with reference to your other comment, I thought Jeremy Vines 'Thriller' was not too bad. Eddie does not enjoy Strictly ... he disappears and reads, or sits listening to music getting read for Saturday Night Is Music Night ...

Hope you had a great Halloween

All the best Jan
